What I've learned and how I'll keep learning

Assignment five was a challenge to me at first. When I was looking at the requirements for a high pass I didn't know how I would get more than 20 slides in my PowerPoint. When I got started, I quickly found out that getting more than 20 slides would be a breeze. I learned how to make a jeopardy style game on PowerPoint. This will come in handy when I do class reviews while I am a teacher. I've attached a screenshot of my PowerPoint.

I think that I will use surveys in my class as a first day get to know you game. This would be used by making a QR code that students could scan with their phone and take the survey. I would ask questions about what types of texts that they like to read and what they like to write about. This would be an easy way to understand what I could teach in my class to appeal to my students. I feel that this would help my students engage in class because we would be studying texts that they like.

I have not done a lot of the tech-flex badges. I have only done two so far, one about toolbox Tuesday and then I posted a sticky note about something good that has happened to me. The tool that I tweeted about was Class Dojo, it is a way to keep students on task and to keep parents or guardians in the loop. My good thing that I posted about was that I finally have time to read a book for fun. I am listening to it from Audible, I have found a love for audio books and I feel that it will help me get into reading more.

I have learned a lot from looking at my classmates blog. I've learned that my classmates are learning some of the same PowerPoint skills that I am learning. I also see that some people have had to re-learn PowerPoint skills. This encouraged me because I thought that I was not smart because I forgot some basic skills. I'm glad that we all got a refresher in our PowerPoint skills.

I would like to learn how to improve my Excel skills. I would like to learn Excel skills better because it would be an easy way to keep track of my students grades. I would also be able to keep charts of the progression of my students grades. I feel that this would give me a better understanding of how I can help my students and see what teaching methods work. I will improve my Excel skills by using it more when I have the chance to in other classes.
